What might you expect on a Sunday morning ?
Children's groups start at 10:45
Worship begins at 11am
we all come together at 11:35
the youngest children may stay in worship or go with their carer to be with the other children.
We meet for about an hour followed by tea and coffee. We have groups for children and young people. Adults gather in the upstairs room children and young people go to their group downstairs. There is also an area used as a crèche where those who have brought very young children can care for them while hearing the service. During the service we hear readings from the bible prayers are said and we sing hymns and songs together. Everyone comes together for about the last fifteen minutes of the service during this time we share some of the things we have been doing in our own groups. At the end of the service we share tea and coffee in the lounge area and everyone is invited to stay for a while.
We share Communion (Bread and Wine) on the first Sunday of the month. Children receive a blessing or the bread and wine depending on their familie's preference/tradition. For those who do not wish to share bread and wine there is the invitation to remain in fellowship with the congregation and, if they wish to, come to the front and receive a blessing.
St Mark's has facilities for people with disabilities with street level access to the entrance area and a lift to the first floor worship area. A loop system and sound reinforcement help those with hearing disabilities and we can provide support for those with visual impairment. We welcome younger and older people with mobility difficulties.
We would love for you to join us one Sunday. Travel into St Mark's is easy on DLR, Train or bus. Parking is possible onthe street in the area. Please note, however, that the parking restrictions apply on a Sunday and you will have to pay and display or use a meter..
Individuals, families and households of all shapes and sizes are welcome at St Mark's
