About Us
We are here for the long term and want to welcome you
We seek to welcome, and value, all people to be a part of our church especially those who have not found a welcome elsewhere. We aim to be a supportive group and welcome individuals, families and households of all shapes and sizes to be a part of the life of our church.
There are a number of projects in several places and we hope there will be one act of worship you would like to be a part of. At St Marks at 11am on a Sunday is a more traditional act of worship including groups for children. On Sunday mmornings we encourage Children to gather by 10:45 this earlier start compared to the worship group alows children to settle down before those who care for them have to go upstairs.
At The Journey we like to push at the boundaries a little and take up to 2 hours for our gathering including refreshments, learning any songs and sharing our news.
Our tradition is that we have a church meeting which is made up of all those who are a part of the life of the church. Those who have chosen to become members are able to elect members of the church council which is the small meeting which works with the minister in the leadership of the church.
For over 35 years the Methodists and what is now the United Refomed Church have worked together in Greenwich. We represent the traditions of Methodists, Congregationalists, Presbyterians and Churches of Christ all these denominations have been around for much longer and our combined history in Grenwich goes back to the 18th Century.
Our worship pattern is decided locally. We are a part of the worldwide Christian Church and recognise the historical patterns of worship as important to our life but exactly how we organise worship is up to us.
