The Journey
This is our monthly worship event held at The Forum, Trafalgar Rd, Greenwich SE10
It is an open and welcoming event which lasts from 7 - 9 pm including the chance to learn any music for the evening and a tea break.
A new departure for The Journey in September 05 was to share communion. The whole group helped set the room and prepare food, bread and wine. We sat round a floor space prepared with many foods eating a small meal and then sharing bread and wine.
A Labyrinth,
On 20th November 05 Danielle Wilson brought her Labyrinth to Greenwich for all to share. We spent time walking the journey. We will welcome Dannielle back in the Autumn of 2008

The Journey schedule
The Journey meets on the third Sunday of each month (exept when that is easter day and in August)
A Taize Service.- this is a service of reflection. the chance is offered to sing, light candles and step out of the ruch of the normal day so that refreshed we might start the week on a good footing. If you would like to know more about taize please follow this link to the taize community web pages
An Iona Service this is a service which is inspired by the liturgies of the Iona Community and the Wild Goose Resource group.
Familiar to many people throughout the world this is a style of worship which will include chant and song which may challenge our perceptions of the comfortable faith of some Christians. When we share an Iona Liturgy we often spend extended time in learning our songs. The liturgy is participative and often some of those who wish to will be asked to read or to offer prayer which has been prepared by the leader for the day.
We meet for Blue Christmas a service for the longest night on Sunday 21st December. This is a service when we think of our own needs and is focused on the ways that Christmas often has a darker side for us than th eglitter and sparkle of the popular images.
We are not puting a downer on Christmas celebrations, simply making a spae where we can reflect on the struggles we may face in our lives.
When we meet for the journey we gather at 6:45 for a cuppa. At 7pm we learn the songs for the evening we finish by 9pm often having time for another cuppa either during the evening or at the end of the liturgy.
There is always space for anyone who may find on a particular evening that they need to step out of the worship space to do so.
The Journey is a welcoming and open space for all those who wish to gather for reflection, to explore faith and to worship.
